Why we use it
We use information to create accounts, publish and moderate adverts, deliver enquiries, process purchases, prevent fraud, provide support, meet legal obligations and improve the service. Our legal bases may include performing a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations and consent where required.
Who receives it
Advert information is public. Buyer contact details are shared with the seller of the vehicle enquired about. We also use carefully selected providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email and, when enabled, payment processing. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect users.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as needed for the purposes described, including resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting tax or legal duties. We use access controls and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we require an approved safeguard or other lawful transfer mechanism.
